The club was established in 2002 as a district team, Tai Po Football Club quickly marched all the way from the 3rd Division to Hong Kong’s top flight. Also known as Wofoo Tai Po. Tai Po currently competes in Hong Kong Premier League. The club is the first district team to win a top-flight title since Yuen Long during the 1962–63 season and the first-ever district team to win the Hong Kong Premier League title.
